Table related things I made...

A gal on another forum showed us a pic of some napkins she was going to make..

I just had to ry..

No fabric stores near here, and the only Walmart is 45 min away and has very little..

I made 9 centerpieces for a family engagement party last Sat night..

Best part was the price. The centerpieces came in at under 5.00 each...

If you want directions on the napkins, let me know. You can get 4 from a yard..45 in wide fabric..

    Kathleen,
    I'd love directions.

Fabric stores are getting scarcer and scarcer. WalMarts have done away with their fabric departments in most of the stores around here. There is one big store (JoAnn's about 20 minutes away from me), but all the others have bit the dust.

Nice job on the arrangements. Did the flowers come from your yard? Don't see how you could keep the price down that low unless you grew them yourself.

    Thanks, OA..
No, the mums are from a greenhouse I buy from.
I was worried that there wouldn't be good ones left, it is getting late here for mums.
They are huge pots..9 of them filled the back of the Trailblazer with the middle seat down..

The mums were 5 for 11.00 . I was limited in colors..lots of good full yellow ones left, but the tablecloths were green with a white overlay and I didn't want it to look like St Patrick's Day. The purple with the gold went well.
I used very thin wire and made a garland with glittered leaves and threaded it through the flowers. Then added the baby's breath and a mesh bow. The ribbon was from Sam's Club..50 yds for 8.50...It was so nice to work with..I think I used about 4 yds for each bow...they were nice and full..
Everyone wanted to take one home, so the longest married at each table got first chance. They should last till Tgiving if they keep it cool and watered, and then it can be planted.

Love the color of the Mums, Kathleen. Love the added baby's breath and bows, that really makes them extra special.

I think I saw the napkins that folded like a Christmas tree on someone's table--thought they looked cute. Haven't sewn for awhile, but these might be worth pulling the machine out. Would love to have you share the instructions. Are they round to start with? Seems like they would have to be.

OA,don't forget about the Fabric Patch--it's in your area. They cater to the quilters, so carry a nice variety of fabrics and are probably closer to you than Joann's. There's also a small fabric store at Vineyard and Baseline in the shopping center on the southwest corner.

Kathleen, your napkins turned out great. I will print the pattern if you post it but won't be making any this year before the Holidays. It looks like it would be fun to make with all the different fabrics.

Your centerpieces are beautiful. I'm glad you posted a picture of them in the back of your trail blazer so we could see the size and enjoy that picture also. Your very talented.

The Christmas tree napkins are so pretty. And I can't believe the beautiful centerpieces were so economical. They look expensive!

Beautiful Kathleen. We can't get any mums here....I guess the greenhouses didn't do too well with them this summer :^(
I would love the directions for the napkins. They look like a great Christmas gift for the girls!
    Thanks,

Thanks, Kathleen. I'm going to make them for sure.

Kathleen, thanks for the link. So I have a couple questions for you please. How did you get more than two fabrics in your's, I really like your's? And did you do the full circle or half circle? Luvs

    Hi Luvs,
Sorry for the delay..we had a medical emergency with my dil..she had emerg surgery..and with 4 little ones to take care of this isn't going to be easy..
That is the way the fabric was..I would like to do it with a solid and a pattern..but no time to get to the fabric store as I had planned.
I made the half circle...I know some did a full..I have finished 6 so far..

Kathleen, I hope DIL will be fine. Sorry to hear that and I bet with 4 little ones you are very busy. Will say a prayer for all of you.

Thanks for letting us know about your material. I so wish I had more time to play. I will just have to enjoy all of the neat things from the rest of you which please me so much.

I'm going to dig out my stash of fabric this week and see what I have on hand so I can try a few of these too. I think they would be a fun gift for friends/family too. Thanks for sharing the idea with us. Hope your DIL is doing well and all of you as well. Luvs

Love the napkins...Happy Holidays to you! Now I know where youve been!!!

Wishing your DIL a speedy recovery and much strength to you in caring for 4 little ones.

Love the napkins, I'd never seen that style before. Floral centerpieces are gorgeous - you are very talented! TFS

    Hi Kathleen...
I commented on your blog, and will do so again here.
Hoping all goes well with your DIL and a speedy recovery too. We had the same thing with my DD last year and DH & I watched her 4.. We needed a week to recover when we returned home! So take care of you too.

Love the napkins and I definitely have them on my 'To Do List'... hard to find nice fabric places anymore. Walmart has done away with theirs, and there's only JoAnn's.
Hard to believe that there's not the same interest to make things anymore.
    I would miss that.
    TFS..

The napkins are beautiful, and I'd be hesitant to use them after all that work. lol! Love the mums!

I hope your DIL has a quick recovery. Thank goodness she has you to help with the little ones.
