Bathroom Faucets

I am getting ready to remodel my bathroom and am so confused as to sink faucets. There are now so many brands to choose from. A plumber once told me that he only recommends Moen and Grohe. Someone else advised to always use stainless steel faucets and not to be fooled by all the beauty of some faucets. I am finally settling on the two handle lever, but don't know which brands are best.

I have had great experiences with all Rohl faucets; so good infact, that is the only brand I will purchase.

I also hear that Rohls are a good faucet, however, they are pricey. If your budget requires a more moderately priced faucet, Moens are a great faucet and warranty & customer service is excellent.

I personally have had terrible experience with Price Pfitzer and would not recommend them. Although they have beautiful designs, most plumbers will also tell you they are junk.

I think your plumber went a long way towards leading you in the right direction. Both Moen and Grohe are great brands. Moen pioneered the "lifetime warranty" which has forced many competitors to match it and Grohe is a high quality German made fixture which is hard to beat as to build quality and materials and they too offer a lifetime warranty. The best rule to follow is you get what you pay for, its hard to expect great quality at a cheap price. Somewhere along the line it will come back to haunt you..LOL

Thank you all so much for the great advice. I, too, believe you get what you pay for and am willing to go the extra mile for a better product.

Installing it is the biggest concern for the average person who has to install it.
This one is a big one.
"Buy whatever an experienced installer likes to install" is one answer, not too flip to be real.

Another thing you will never find out about in a showroom is how much bad noise it makes when the valves are partially open.
Even the best names in the business have this problem, when your house water pressure is high.

We used to have Moen. They're okay, but the reason they have a lifetime warranty is that on some of their more pricey models, you may find yourself using that warranty again and again for the same stupid little part that breaks. That's what happened to us. I think sometimes their design team outruns the manufacturing/bottom line side. On their basic stuff they do a good job.

I switched to Barand faucets (French) available at our local Orchard Supply. Extremely heavy and very nice at an extraordinarily reasonable price. They've been in since 2003 and we are very happy with them.

Anybody know anything about Legacy Brass faucets?

We bought Fontaine faucets for our remodel and are very very pleased with the style and quality.

can anyone recommend a site that has good quality faucets and other fixtures/hardware at good (discount) price--we are going to be doing remodeling for house we are putting on the market and anything we can save on costs would be helpful in slow market...

We are currently planning a master bath remodel and I have been researching various faucet options - thought I was all set with Rohl but delving further, I found a lot of negative reviews on them and have now backed away from them (although - sigh - they looked beautiful...). I am leaning now towards Cifial - have seen virtually all good reviews on them. They're made in Portugal. Am thinking of ordering through Qualitybath.com. Trying to balance quality, aesthetics and a budget....
