Lenox dinnerware

Hello All,

I have been coveting the Lenox Winter Greetings Everyday pattern for quite some time. I would like to start collecting these pieces, but I thought I heard Lenox was bankrupt? does anyone know whether these pieces will continue to be made?

Also, does anyone know where I could get these pieces for a good price? I check ebay now and then, without much luck.

Thanks for any and all advice

    Happylady,

I agree, those are pretty. I don't have any info about the company, but I did a search for you. From the ones I saw, dinnerplates.com had the best prices on individual pieces, and there is at least one place that has the set for four for $90.

Good luck, I hope you find what you are looking for.

    Oh wow...
I was just in a Consignment Shop today, and they were selling a set for 6 with Tea Pot and Coffee Pot, and cake server..ALL for $150. The woman told me 1 - 5PC Place Setting sells for at least $90, and that the price was an unbelievable buy.
After reading your post, I'm kicking myself.

Looks like Dept. 56 bought them in 2005. They file for bankruptcy, chapter 11 in Nov. 2008. It was auctioned off to Clarion Capital Partners Feb. 2009. I hope they will survive!!

I am in love with the Winter Greetings collection too. I love Catherine McClung's works. I have the china salad plates with all the diff. birds, (including the scenic salad plates) & a few other pieces. I got some of them from the Lenox outlet store in Birch Run, MI. I do not know if they ship. The outlet store near my sister's house in Florida closed last year. :^(

Looks like Lenox.com is run a sale. You could google "Lenox coupon" & you can use some of those sites to enter the Lenox.com site to get additional savings like the one I attached below. ($20 off an $80 order exp. 12/31) Some of the coupons are for free shipping, so that might be better than the one I attached.

I have the Lenox Eternal Christmas.
The year after I started collecting them, around 2000, they discontinued them!
I have a Lenox Outlet nearby and they are still open.
But you never know when they will discontinue a pattern, and you won't have all you want..
If they had notified me I would have made sure I had everything!
Now they are so expensive on ebay or replacements..

Jane, you can order a 12 piece service for four for around $90, but for 6, with the tea pot and coffee pot... that is very tempting.

I CAN NOT buy any more dishes. It is getting embarrassing to me to have so many for two people. I am thinking about dividing up my sets, and donating half to SA. Of course I still have regrets from the last time I did that. (^-:

I have been using different dishes for every meal, and that is enjoyable. Not as elaborate as Kathleen's, but still enjoyable.

Ooops, gotta run. Time for DH's breakfast.

    Have a good day everyone,

I found a better coupon, $25 off an $100 order exp. 12/31. So if they are $9.95 each & you get 12, that is $119.40 minus $25 plus $13.50 for shipping. That's $107.90. You can mix or match them they way you want them.

Oh, you are all so helpful!! Thank you so much for all of your replies.

Here's an additional comment/question: I had planned on using this set throughout the Winter, do you all think it's more holiday, what with the ribbon part of the design? Am I just obsessing too much?

I really thank you for all of your help!

No, not at all in my opinion, the designs has lovely greenery, the bird design, I think it is a nice representation of the seasons. Your could even do a really pretty Valentines table with these dishes by highlighting the red from the bow in your tablescape (simple candlesticks with red candles with some thin ribbon in complementary colors tied below, red cloth napkins with a natural twig wreath style of napkin ring, well, I would tend to add lots more to the tablescape, but that is because I am a more is more/overkill type of person, but I will stop here for the more clean-lined folks).LOL

Same thing goes for a more Winter/fall/Spring look, just bring out from the dishes about what the season at that time represents ie: in a tablespace (bird/nature theme) you could have some lovely bird figureines (not cutesy, but realistic birds) placed throughout the centerpiece display, throw down some pieces of silk or real greenery in the centerpiece with some rustic or not so rustic candlesticks and you would get a great look with that too.
Great dishes, I am jealous :)

Ah Judith, its so nice to have you back and giving out wonderful tips for any of us who are dish-challenged. I lead that parade. LOL.
These dishes are beautiful and the idea of using them thru and for Valentines is something I wouldn't have thought of.
You may be a "more is more" person, many of us here are, but NEVER over-kill in your gorgeous decorating.

    hugs, Karen

Jaybird, Did you see the matching round tablecloth on Ebay? Keywords: cardinal tablecloth. It is beautiful, but it is round. My round table has been put away for the year. I guess I'll leave my oblong Pfaltzgraff Winterwood tablecloth on the dining room table for the winter season.

I would love to see your table setting with your Winter Greetings Everyday dinnerware, from one bird lover to another.

purplemoon/Karen, Aw, thank you for your kind words. I think everyone can set a pretty table, one of the easy ways to do it is with sticking with a theme, and utilizing the colors already present in the pattern of the dishes.

I looked at those dishes (Winter Greeting) as a perfect Valentines romantic tablesetting for 2 nature lovers, the red bow/ribbon was the perfect touch. (Now all I need is that set of dishes and a "honey".) Sigh...
