Decorating the Table...

with food! I have been busy, trying to decorate, shop and cook.

I am part of a blog, WFDandmore...and we have had 2 bake offs recently.

The first was marshmallow...which I don't really like...but didn't want to be a slacker...

So here are some of the things I have been doing..

The final product..

{{gwi:1455916}}

Potato Pancakes..

Potato leek soup with Ham..

Christmas cookies, and Christmas Eve Tortiere, my Canadian friend told me about them..DD do you make them?

I have been checking in and seeing all your decos...hope next week I can come out and play with all of you!

All I can say is YUMMY!! Wow, looks like you've been up to your ears in cooking and baking..No wonder you've been 'missing in action'. I can't believe you made marshmallow from 'scratch'. That seems like a lot of work. I've made candy and it looks like what you have going in your first pic in the pot..but then I see several other steps, then the marshmallows. I'm curious as to what you did. As for the 'latkas'..we used to make them every year at school for Hanukkah and serve them like you have w/sour cream and also applesauce. Your's look really delicious. Your table scapes are very pretty too. I like the dishes w/the trees. I see you did your spritz cookies..I'm going to start tomorrow. I'm really behind w/my baking. Looking forward to you 'playing' with us.
    We missed you.

    Kathleen,
I have missed seeing your pretty tables with all the awesome food! Everything looks great - I think I am going to try the potato pancake recipe on your blog. That looks very tempting and your blog looks great!!

Looks like you have been doing some serious cooking/baking. Every thing looks so good. Going to check out your blog after I make dinner because one good blog leads to another and I won't get dinner started.

Mo, thank you and I have missed palaying here too..
I have a lot to learn about blogging! :)

Jane, yes I remember those cold, greasy latkes from school too. Parents would bring them in and we would have no way to heat them!
So you have your decorating done, I don't! Hard to bake decorate shop and play here too...But I will catch up eventually!
DD I know what you mean..I could get lost in blog land! LOL and thanks!

Hi Kathleen, glad you made time to stop by for a bit. Love your tree plates and napkins, and the plaid placemats and white plates with the cutouts--very pretty. Your blog is looking nice too, you've been a busy gal. Hope you are having fun. Luvs

Kathleen, how great that you have started a blog! I have checked it out and love it. (You sure are busy!!)I think your name "Cuisine Kathleen" is so cute! Love your pic by the Heading too. I will be visiting it often. I have never made or even had a Christmas Tortiere (? maybe from Quebec) but yours looks delicious and I'd love to try it! DH makes potato pancakes for us now and again as his German mother made them for him growing up. His are never "presented" as nicely as yours though - LOL!

Marshmallows, potato pancakes, you take me by my stomach Kathleen... now, I'm hungry. Fortunatly, it's 11 AM here and we'll soon eat!
PS. If you don't like marshmallows, no problem: I'll eat them!

Tortiere are a french canadian tradition, we have had them every Christmas since I was born. My mother is french, didn't speak any english when she married my father and she just naturally carried on celebrating Christmas the only way she knew how. It just wouldn't be Christmas if we didn't have these delicious meat pies.
