DIY Wreath

I made this wreath with a wire hanger, bulbs I got at a thrift store ($1.50 for a huge bag, red satin ornies) and a bow I already had. I think it turned out really well. A friend of mine liked it so much I had made three more for her. My husband did say "How many of those are you going to make?" Ha, ha! I think it got wreath-ed out.

That looks wonderful, and you were on a roll making them sounds like! Your bow is lovely and perfect for this wreath.

I've been wanting to make one the last few years, but never tried it. Was it hard it to do? I've seen the instructions and looked easy, but if it takes a lot of patience I'm not so good with that. LOL. Did you glue on the ornie caps first or not? I think the idea of gluing all those caps on is what has stopped me from trying this.
Hopefully you've inspired me to!

swest, I think it looks fantastic! I once saw a tutorial on making these so want to do one, but I haven't yet been able to find the smaller size ornies in the color(s) I would like. That, and I'd hate giving up one of my good wire hangers! lol!

I know it takes a lot of ornies to make one wreath, so you sure snagged a good deal by paying only $1.50 for the whole bag!

It was not hard to make at all. I did not glue the tops because the tops of these ornaments screw into the satin bulbs which are made of form, so the wreath is very light weight. The weight also helps because they are not heavy so the wreath doesn't sag.

Very cool! I made one with tulle this year and it came out great. I will have to try yours next time.
