We don't have Drakes, we have the Ultra Max...one round and one elongated. No problem with either one as far as stopping up or getting everything down the first time. The elongated version is a little harder to keep clean. Maybe because there's more surface area that's not covered in water? I don't know. I just know it needs cleaned more often.

I have both types of drake toilets. I have yet to encounter the problems you described.

Have the Clayton. Low water level does require more diligent cleaning, but flushing is a dream, lol. I've yet to need a plunger ... unlike the American Standard in the other bathroom.

I had three Carlyles in my last house . . . six years, no problems ever. In the new house we have two Carlyles and 2 Drake elongateds . . . it has only been a few weeks, but so far, no complaints.

I have 2 Toto ultramax, ADA elongated styles both with sanagloss and both from National Builder Supply that you mentioned. great price and absolutely no problems. I have a Toto Washlet on one of them also and its wonderful.

I purchased a Drake elongated with the sanagloss finish a little over a year ago. I have rarely used the brush, other than for normal cleaning. I love my Toto and bought it after extensive research. I have no idea where the plunger is located, since I've never had to use it. I am very, very satisfied with Toto.
