ASKO or Bosch

Looking at either...mid range price most likely. Stopped into the Wolf/Sub Zero showroom the other day and can get a floor model ASKO for about $500 off the reg price of $1400. Should I just stop considering the Bosch and take the great deal or get the Bosch (Consumer Reports and JD Power don't seem to like ASKO yet all I read on message boards no one seems to have any more problems with ASKO than any other brand). Not having heated dry was keeping me away from the Bosh but then I keep reading how people love them!

Originally we were going to do a Kitchen-Aid but want the true built in look with a panel and thanks to GW I found out we might not be happy with how much it sticks out.

Yep!

Bosch doesn't have anything near comparable in the $900 price range.

Go with the Asko. I have owned both and much prefer the washing & drying results of Asko hands down. Since Bosch began making products in the US they have sacrificed quality to reach certain price points for the dishwasher to be sold in the big box stores.

Asko also have a much stronger warranty 2+1! Just call or register the product online and get a total of 3-years parts & labor coverage. Bosch only offers 1-year labor and 2-years on parts.

My Asko died after 18 years of service so I considered purchasing other high end D/Ws till I was able to examine them at various appliance stores. Did not like the interior racks & dish & silverware configurations-how much time do I want to devote to loading a D/W on a daily basis?!
My priorities-Ease of Use & Interior Space & Appearance-Asko won! Took a huge risk after reading poor Asko grades on Consumer Reports & bought an Asko & love it!

I have had both also. I MUCH MUCH prefer the older Asko to the newer Bosch. With a sigh of relief, I "relinquished" my 6 month old(new) Bosch to my rental house when the DW in the rental died. I currently have a Miele but my old Asko worked just as well, IMHO....

My prob may have been that I bought the Bosch from Sears and I have always bought my high end appliances from specialty appliance stores. Maybe Sears gets the lower end Bosch models. I don't really know. Just a guess....
