Neat fireplace idea

We toured Blithewold Mansion in Bristol RI today. It's all done up for Christmas with incredible decorations in every room. One clever idea caught my eye: they're no longer allowed to burn real fires in the fireplaces, so in the dining room they had a string of small white Christmas lights bunched on the grate and these were covered with scrunched up mesh fabric in gold, sort of like a tulle, to make a mock fire. It was a very pretty effect. A lot of people like to burn pillar candles in their fireplace in lieu of a real fire, but this would be a way to have no open flame at all.
