New Year's Greeter

I got busy and cut out this little guy today and got him all painted up so thought I'd share him with all of you.

I really don't have any New Year's decorations--need to work on that maybe.

I hope the New Year will bring much happiness and good health to each one of you.

    Oh Luvs...he's so adorable!
He makes you want to just 'tickle' him...lol

I've missed your cute painted creations, and glad
to see this one before the end of the year.
    TFS him with us.

    Luvs,

Can't wait to show DD this little guy! He reminds me of our newest DGS who just turned 5 months on the 23rd and has those sweet dimples everywhere and laughs constantly!

    Happy New Year!

Jane and Betty, glad this little guy made you smile. It felt good to be back in the craft room painting something again. I seem to go in spurts anymore!

So are any of you planning to decorate for New Year's? I usually don't--still have all the Christmas stuff out. We got rain today, and I'm dealing with a cold, so not rushing to get it all put away.

Luvs, I posted last night, but I see it didn't make the cut, so I will post again. I was wondering if Baby New Year will be sitting on your porch. Also, how big is he?

Thanks Lynn, I hadn't painted anything recently but this one was pretty simple so painted up fast.

Mary Ruth, thanks for the warm wishes, I hope you get all settled in your new home this new year--can't wait to see how you add all your special touches.

Punk, he's from an old issue of Crafts magazine, 2002 to be exact, just finally got around to getting him done. Was quick and easy--why did I wait so long?

Jeanne, I'm so sorry your post got lost, guess they lost a whole days worth somehow. Glad you posted again, I appreciate your comment.

OA, sounds like it happened to your post too--such a shame, hope they have it all fixed now. This guy is about 14 inches high. I was going to hang him from my lamp post in the front yard, but may just sit him on the kitchen table and enjoy his little smile since we're planning to stay in tonight--both of us have colds. How about you, got party plans to bring in the New Year?

How cute is that? Very! Your a great painter and should keep at it, now that you started back. I know what you mean about New Year's decs, I have one little porcelain guy in a top hat that says Happy New Year, I'll stick him out today. Have a Happy New Year, regardless of your colds.

    Hi Luvs,
I have my immediate family (husband, son, daughter-in-law, daughter, 3 grandchildren) and a house full of in-laws staying the night tonight. It will be fun. People of all ages (kindergartener, grade schooler, middle schooler, sophomore in college, one in graduate school, young adults in their early thirties - and then someone older than I (That doesn't happen too often!) - from 6 to 68. It will be rather low-key, but I've put out a few decorations and purchased hats and noise makers. I'll be serving munchies from Costco (I just love "Entertaining the Costco Way.") and then waffles with various toppings for a late-night dinner. No one will be on the road tonight, so we don't have to be too careful about wine consumption.
    Happy New Year,
    OA

That is just so cute! And yes, it does want to make you tickle him! I don't know how you do that! Amazing!

No NY eve decorating here..Mother Nature decorated us with another snow storm..not as bad as the last one, but enough to mess up the roads and cancel plans.

I leave Christmas up till the 6th..Little Christmas..

We are supposed to travel tomorrow to my sister's. Family reunion...It will depend on the weather..

Syble, you are too sweet--not "great", but fun--painting satisfies some of my "creative" urges.

OA, that sounds so fun to have a house full of people. Hope you all have a great time. Waffles sound yummy to me, haven't had any for awhile. Thinking of breakfast, did anyone else get to IHOP to have the holiday pancakes? I loved the eggnog ones--had them twice!

Oh my gosh, Kathleen, you are getting bombarded with the snow aren't you? Maybe it will just get it over with and the rest of the winter will be much milder. My family in the Midwest also got hit with a blizzard for Christmas this year. We are getting some nice rains, but they also bring cooler weather. I'll have to share a picture of us all wrapped up in coats, gloves and scarves the night we went looking at Christmas lights--not a common sight here in so. Calif. LOL Glad you liked my little New Year's guy. Stay warm and healthy.

Luvs, he is precious! I love his chubby little cheeks! It's always so much fun to see what you paint.

Thanks DG, glad you enjoyed him. December is such a busy month with so much going on including our anniversary--44th was on the 29th--and I rarely see designs that I can paint for New Year's. This little guy looks pretty cute in the middle of our table. Luvs

Luvs, that is so adorable, as usual anything you paint comes out great, I wish I had that talent!

Happy Anniversary, Luvs. Forty-four is a rarity these days.

What a cute little New Year baby!

Very cute Luvs! Thanks to a Luvly friend who paints beautiful things, I have starry snow people on my back door to welcome everyone! They are so cute, and will stay there for another month or two or three......
    Thanks again,
