Bathroom layout

Here's our bathroom as it is today. It is a small master bath located between two bedrooms...it's about 8 ft long and 6 ft wide. We want to keep the bedroom on the right pretty much as is but expland our bath into the bedroom on the left and create more closet space. The two boxes on the plan on either side of the bathroom door are closets. One is a linen closet in the bath, the other is a small bedroom closet for the right bedroom (which we can get rid of because we'll gain extra closet space in the other bedroom (that's the goal anyway.)

We don't have enough room to keep a door from the right bedroom directly into the bath, so we think we'll just enter the space from the left and walk through the closet area to the bath area. We're trying to keep tub, toliet, etc relatively in the same area to avoid moving plumbing around so much, thinking that will keep costs down) and then expand into the left bedroom as needed then use rest for more closet space. We'd love to have a shower and tub separately in this space as well as separate vanities...I have a few ideas that I'm working on but was hoping that others would chime in on how to combine left bedroom with bath to make a master bath with much needed closet space.

TIA

I guessed on your original measurements here, but would something like this work? It's a bit narrow and the tub is small, but I tried to keep plumbing and windows about the same. Another drawback is the glare from the tub window into the mirror. You do, however, have lots of storage space now. I forgot to label it, but that is a linen closet across from the shower.

Thanks handful! I like your plan...I've included my latest version...we want a walk in shower, whirlpool tub...and privacy for toliet area...but gain much needed closet space..it's so hard to work it all in and keep pathways and door clearances in mind....

Thanks for taking the time to provide an option..one I hadn't even come close to visualizing!

Any ideas on my plan, let me know, especially if you see any pitfalls to it!. The bedroom we're converting is about 11 ft 9 inches square (give or take) with a closet on the bottom wall that is about 6.5 feet long.

    Thanks again!

Will there be any doors hiding the clothes? Not sure I would want that. The small sink looks like an afterthought. What about closing off both of the doors and putting a door right at the top of the stairs where the shower is. Then you could go right to the bedroom and left to the bathroom.

I've been thinking about your space. Since you want the big shower and tub, you probably should not use up so much space for closet area in the new bathroom. What I did was frame out an additional closet in your bedroom. I put in a king size bed just to see how much room was left, although it doesn't look like you have a king bed. Either way, you still have at least two feet on either side.

The shower entry could be either of those red lines. The area between the shower and the closet could be a seat for dressing, a counter with cabinets below, or even a make-up area if you want that. This also allows for 5'6" x 2'8" tub. What do you think?

Thanks houseful! One door is genius...I feel so silly I had't even considered that...I have to run out now, but will definitely look at this plan a bit closer..thanks so much for helping me....taking your time to do this was very generous of you!
