DH is right from what I've experienced with my CD installation. IF the plug/ H20 lines poke out in the wrong place your CD will not go back all the way and it will be all for naught.

I have found almost all installation instructions on-line describe the required locations, though. I'm not sure why you couldn't find that info.

You night have to adjust things a tad in the future if you decide on something later on, to make it really fit right.

Recessed plug/ valve really help immensely too.

What could be worse than spending the extra bucks on a smallish CD and still finding it stuck out too far?

Since you're doing new construction, ask your plumber to put the water connection in the wall. I've seen 'boxes' similar to the box used for a washer where the waterline and cutoff are in the wall. This way, it would be flush and not stick out. So when the fridge is installed you simply run a line from the box to the fridge. BTW: many CD fridges will still require space (typically 1") to the rear.

Weedmaster's right, plus it helps to set the stub within the recessed waterline box at about 45 degrees rather than straight out, so that the copper tubing has a smooth headstart into the "coil" up behind the refrigerator that it will need, and eliminate the need to create a fragile, tight bend in the line to make that transition.
