I have CFLs in my bathrooms and I like them just fine. I had changed out most of my incandescents in the house last winter, but I hesitated to do it in the bathroom because I was concerned about the quality of the light. The $$ I was saving on electricity finally persuaded me to give it a try, and I haven't regretted it.

However, in your case, the "warmth" of the light given off by (I assume) fluorescent tubes in the showrooms might not be the same as that from CFLs, so switching might not have the effect you're going for. On the other hand, you might as well try--you will save a little electricity at least.

I have incans on the walls right above my mirrors and CFLs in recessed cans above the shower and ceiling. The incans are on a different switch from the CFLs so I can turn on the CFLs for long term and turn on the incans for special lighting use at the mirror.
