Diva induction

Does anyone on this site actually have a Diva induction cooktop? We are planning on the DDP-5 36" & also considering the Diva induction wok. The induction wok looks awesome. Thanks for looking.

After months spent on this website and a bunch of time at the appliance store, I had planned on getting the Diva 30" but ended up ordering the Fagor. Fagor is made by the same parent company and the units are almost identical. I got mine on line for $500 less and it included some cookware and a free 5 year warranty. As much as I loved the idea of Diva I just couldn't get past the feeling that it was a bit overpriced. I can't tell you how it works because my install won't happen for another 6 weeks or so. Hope that helps a little.

Thanks for the response kimwok. It seems that the Diva is the most powerful, has the shallowest counter depth & has been around for a long time. These are the factors that are steering me in the Diva direction. I've got the local dealer down to $3,000 for the 36" model. It does seem to be more money than the others out there but it seems like you just get a better unit (shallow depth, powerful).

whyno--I spoke with Fagor today because I had a question about the 30" unit I ordered. She told me the specs on their current website were wrong and she e-mailed me the new specs that will be on-line soon. As far as I can see the Fagor is the exact same as the Diva with 2 exceptions:
one is the Fagor smallest burners are 6 1/2" (half inch bigger that diva) and the depth is 1/4" deeper than the Diva (4 1/2".) Power is exact same at 9.6 kw. I was pretty certain they are both manufactered by the same parent company and the person on the phone confirmed this.

At Helpfulitem.com the Fagor goes for $2599 which includes the cookware and an additional 5 year warranty.

I don't mean to steer you either way but this was something I happened upon and wanted to share it. In any event it wouldn't hurt to check it out. I don't know what area you are in but the Fagor person told me that there is a place in Poundridge NY that has the 36 on display.

The way I look at it, the more information you have, the better decision can be made! Hope that helps.

kimwok - so it would seem then that $3000 for the 36" Diva is a good price if indeed yours is a 30" @ $2599, Also the Diva spec sheet I have says it is 4" deep. The differing depth of the many brands made a difference. Also it seems the Diva had the power without the boost feature found on many other brands. Have you or anyone looked at the Diva wok? It looks really cool (really thick glass). Thanks for looking.

whyno--the $2599 is for the Fagor 36". I am paying $1999 for the 30". I also was concerned about the depth. the Diva and the Fagor are basically the same depth-the Viking was the deepest at I think around 8". I don't know anything about the wok as there is no way I could fit one in my kitchen but it sounds great. Check out www.theinductionsite.com as it might have some info on the wok.
