Off center vanity light

We are remodelling most of our house and I am trying to draw the line with some of the extras. In my kids' bath I was planning on replacing the vanity top, toilet , tiling the floor and getting a new light fixure but no extensive electrical repairs. I just noticed the idiots who built this house put the vanity light about 6" to the right of center over the mirror and vanity. The vanity is 43" wide. The mirror is...glued to the wall. ;-).

Any ideas about making this look less weird? The vanity is immediately to the right of the door when you walk in, the light is closer to the door than the other side.

Halogen track lighting for bathrooms that shines down on the countertop it great. Several lights and move them where you want. We bought ours at home depot. It is a clean contemporary look, and you don't notice that the it is not centered where it is attatched to the wall.

We had this problem in the kids bath because we decided to add a second tower next to the vanit after the electical was done. The box was about 5" off center... We chose a vanity light that had a backplate so that we could hang the light centered and still use the existing box.

gmp3: did the back of the backplate have a sliding attachment plate (usually a circle) that allowed you to install it off-center to the box? If not, how did you install it? I'm have a terrible time finding a fixture that will work in this situation. i've been looking for a fixture with a bar but have not found one with a sliding attachment.
