saving mongo's 'kerdi shower' thread

(avoiding adding #148 to the famous post)

Mongo: I don't know how the GW gallery works, but I'd be happy to memorialize your thread on a webpage all its own and promise to keep it safe forever and let anyone that wants access it.

Something like the link below (I copied a couple of the blurbs and photos).

Only with your permission...

Here is a link that might be useful: Mongo's fabulous kerdi shower instructions

    Oh gosh,

Thanks for that. I had meant to get to that a couple of weeks ago but after a couple of weeks of running far far far away with the family and since getting home, trying to finish up a set of built-in cabinets for a library/office...I forgot all about it!

If it's not too much trouble for you, feel free to have at it.

I would say that to keep it concise, you can delete all the off-topic tangential posts embedded within the thread.

If you see any areas that might need clarification, let me know.

    Thanks!

Consider it done. Or at least on my to-do list. I'm kind-of busy writing grout ditties to dance to...

Figured I better not put this off too long, lest a well-meaning but oblivious poster add the dreaded #150 and consign this gem to the GW scrap heap.

Check it out and let me know if you approve. (same link as above)

    Nice work. Fast too!

Question...can you add more to it? If so, can you add the drawings of the tub and wall cross-sections? I think there are two, they look pretty similar, but one has furring strips, the other does not.

Second...I went to the gallery and searched for "kerdi" and got no hits. I'm a gallery newbie, is there an easy way to find it without usiing your link?

    Thanks!

It can be changed, moved, added to, edited and cajoled to your heart's content. The tub stuff is WAY down at the bottom. I incorporated later posts with photos up in the body where they seemed most comfortable, but didn't do much with the text-only Q&A. If you want to include any of those, let me know.

The page is not in the gallery, it's a standalone web page on googlepages (accessible through the link above). I haven't used the gallery, so don't know how to (or if I can) post it there. I'll fiddle around and see if I can.

    Weedy,

You're the best. Thanks so much for doing that. I'm just about up to my elbows in Titebond (literally, I've used a little over 1.5 gallons today) so it would have been a while before I could have devoted time to savethe thread.

If at all possible, sometime next month I'd like to go through the thread and tweak it a bit. Sort of add the details that we've covered since that were not included in the original text.

I'll be in touch a few weeks down the road to ask you what I need to access the thread so I can edit it.

    Best, Mongo
