Range Hood electrical problem?

Our Best range hood (600CFM) has stopped working. I am assuming that the motor is burned out. Prior to this problem, the circuit which it is on was often blowing the GFCI

circuit breaker.

Question: do you think that the motor was the source of the trouble and things will be better after replacing it? Or, should I call in an electrician to investigate?

Replace the GFCI might just be a bad one that does happen.
