Use Summit SINC2220 w/o installing?

Hi,

Can I test this induction cooker (hob?) without installing it first? I would need to cut a hole in countertop to install, and what if I don't like it? I've been reading a lot about induction vs gas on here, and have become intrigued w/induction. I am interested because of the upper and lower end cooking - simmer and quick boil of water. I am thinking that if I like it, I'd install it next to my Five Star gas cooktop with griddle with which I'm very familiar and can't imagine not getting again. (Haven't started kitchen remodel yet.)

TIA!

Lisa
