Cobblestone is available in both man-made/cement products such as the job above, and natural stone. If you choose to go with real stone, there are ways to create patterns such as a labyrinth using different sizes and shapes as well as different stone types. The images we are sharing here combines antique reclaimed sandstone cobblestone in a large 5"x5" square and then a smaller 3"-4" cube for the circle. A labyrinth would be possible by using different sizes and different stone types; such as antique granite and antique sandstone.

Hi, I'm the home owner. The stones weren't painted. They are dyed pavers and were ordered from The Labyrinth Company which deals in all kinds of labyrinth construction and materials. Check out their website. BTW, it was a bear to install. Some of those tiny pavers had to be custom cut to fit the corners/bends of the circle.
