Reg Cure? need advice

I musta hit some key, and as I have reg cure on desktop it ran the program. Came up several hundred errors, and THEN a window came up asking did I want to register for something, would complete the program running and clean the errors.

Is this something i want to register for? What would it be, and seems as tho it costs money? Can someone give me some advice here?

Appreciate your time people, I am green as grass about this stuff.

Shaddy you do not need that program but they would like your money. As you have a new computer you definitely do not need a registry cleaner, they are using scare tactics.

    To remove it in XP
    click Start
    click Control panel
    click Add/Remove programs

A new window will appear and stay blank for several seconds but eventually all your installed programs will be listed. Look down through for RegCure and click to remove the program.

Then it would be good to download Ccleaner formerly Crap Cleaner), install it and run the program. The link is below. Use it at the default settings and you will do fine. This wil go through your computer cleaning up all odd files or folders left behind by the likes of RegCure. It will look for other stuff and clean it out for you too.

Here is a link that might be useful: Ccleaner - slim version with no Yahoo toolbar

    Shaddy,

The same thing happened to me, but I knew the answer, because they weren't gonna get any $$ out of me, when there are other good/great ones for free.

Just keep asking stuff, and soon you will be a 'light' green like me.

Sue, that was funny, and yes, i will keep asking questions, need to know more than I do right now. I am not knowledgeable about this machine, and always skeered to do something I shouldn't, so come here to ask, and get knowledge. I don't know that I will ever get a lighter green, but thanks for giving me hope.
