Find out if this is a true convection range (with a third element) if that's important to you. I looked at the GE Profile and, even though all the sales people told me it had a third element, when I called GE they said it didn't.

Kharmony, thank you for your comment. I went to the GE appliance part's website. According to the GE Cafe Dual Fuel part's diagram, there is a circular third convection element around the convection fan. I also checked the best GE Profile Dual Fuel offering, it is true, there is no third element around the convection fan.

OK  I had been there but was confused because it says it is a Gas Range  but on closer inspection I do see the electric (what ever they are called) on top and bottom.

IÂve read that Convection Gas Ranges (like the Café) do not have the third element. Do you think it is possible that the Café Gas does? Why not? The bottom drawer of this unit is electric  right? Why not this????

I wonder why they donÂt have the parts diagram for the Gas Model  unless they are the same??? :-)

Would I be able to tell by looking at a Café Floor Model???

Since I am only interested in Dual Fuel (Gas on top, electric for oven), I am not familar with Gas only configuration and how their convection oven is constructed. All I know is a true convection oven within a Dual Fuel range is suppose to have 3 elements, including the circular element surrounding the convection fan. I guess this is why you need 240V for a Dual Fuel range since the power demand is higher than an all gas range. I compared this to Bosch which called their true convection oven, European Convection. The Bosch Dual Fuel range also has a third element surrounding the convection fan. I hope this helps.

Have you looked at the Bosch range, as mentioned above? I have the Bosch dual fuel and LOVE it! I bake 10 loaves of bread at a time and they come out wonderful. I love the gas cooktop. This range has gotten great reviews.

I installed the 30" GE Profile High Performance Range Hood. It is rated at 400CFM with a 7" round duct. Also, see my post below regarding the model number aand grease filter replacement if needed. Also, I purchased the GE Cafe Dual Fuel and the hood was able to handle the load generated from the 3 high output burners including one burner used for stir frying and others boiling.

Does the finish on the Profile hood match the Cafe range? We've ordered the DF range, but can't decide on a hood (the Cafe is too tall - 18" - for our layout).

For this hood,GE Profile 30' High Performance Range HoodModel#: JV636HSS, the SS finish matches my GE Cafe Dual Fuel stove and my GE Profile SS refrigerator: PFS22SISSS. GE has done a good job making sure the SS material is fairly consistent. See picture on attached link.
