Can anybody offer some information on why All Clad offers exclusives in some stores. For example, in the East (possibly everywhere) Williams Sonoma offers a deep sauté pan which they bill as "A Williams Sonoma exclusive", or Macy's offering a 3.5 qt sauté pan with a domed lid... again "only at Macy's"

I'm just curious why these exist. Same quality? Good deals? I mean, they seem to be quite a bit cheaper, yet slightly different than the closest relative pot or pan. Thanks for any comments.
