Yes that's right....the metal get too hot for cheese and chocolate....and the ceramic doesn't get hot enough for oil fondue.

I have two copper fondue sets that I always found a pain to light up. A few months ago, we purchased an electric metal one and it's worked great! I'd recommend an electric one over the others any day.

Soneone recommended a Le Creuset pot. It's heavy enough to handle oil cooking, but it's thcik enough to be able for subtle low heat for chocolates and such. Do you think this is right?
