Advantium alternatives?

Picking out some new Kitchen appliances and would love to replace a toaster and microwave with an oven combo. The Advantium seems like it is closest to what I want, however having to replace trays to switch from oven to microwave would be a huge pain. Almost daily I use both the microwave and toaster I have now. Is there anything out there that can:

1) Toast bread

2) Microwave

3) Cook / convection bigger items

The speed cook sounds really nice too, but if anything had to go that would be it.

If not, I'll probably switch to a stand alone microwave and keep it hidden behind a cabinet door, then just go with a regular large oven and a speed cook one that can also toast.

One other option I was just looking at was to go with the GE Profile double oven (PT925) that does two smaller ovens and also mount the Advantium above it. That gets me a microwave and dedicated oven for daily use, at the cost of not being able to get large items in the smaller bottom oven. Still would have to swap racks in the Advantium for doing actual cooking in it, but that wouldn't be as frequent.

We considered the Advantium, Electrolux Speed Oven & the Miele MasterChef (considerably more pricey than the other 2). We've been using the MasterChef for a month now and have put our microwave and toaster oven in storage - there's a learning curve but there's no longer a need for either of these countertop units.

These 3 models each have their advantages and the Miele's biggest disadvantage is price.

So did you get the Miele speed oven and regular size one too?
Mounting would look like what is pictured on the Miele site in the link below.

If so, does the speed oven have a broiler in it that will really toast?

It also looks like the speed oven/microwave only comes in 24" width, which is why I passed it over at first. I'm curious how you matched that to a wider width oven, or whether you stuck with a 24" large oven too.

I tried making toast in my Advantium. I didn't think it was very good. Most people don't, but I thought I'd give it a try before buying a new toaster oven. I've had much better toast made in an old fashioned oven. Or maybe it was a broiler. I didn't make it. :) But it was toast. I really think toasters make the best toast, however.

    jadair,

We've only temporarily mounted our oven (we just installed it a month ago) and are considering our options in terms of trim kits (the Miele one is another $400). Since we don't have stacked ovens (we have a 36" Wolf Dual Fuel range), a vertical match isn't really our concern.

However, because our cabinets are off-white, the Miele tends to be stand out against that light background and appears "swallowed" in a sea of off-white. It needs the trim kit (or something) to give it a better balance.

We've only toasted bagels so far and they've come out fine - I'll try it on sliced bread (next time we buy it - we're not big bread eaters in this household) and will post the results.

So far, it's been superb as a MW, broiler/grill and oven - haven't done any baking yet though...

Well, right now there are no plans for a free standing range, and I don't see the Miele 24" oven being wide enough for normal day to day use. Strange they wouldn't have made a 27 or 30" speed oven to match their normal wall oven size.
