Disregard my question.

I talked with a ceramic shop worker or owner yesterday. She thinks either my two pieces are salt dough or soft-fired ceramic, not plaster. But I do have plaster pieces that like to chip.

I bought a jar of Mayco Mending & Sculpting Paste from her to fix the areas that chipped away on my "dough" Raggedy Andy & Angel ornaments I painted when little.

And to preserve them I found something like Plasti-Kote at Hobby Lobby that I can use, if the patching works & spending $10 on the smallest kit is worth it for the two items.
