crocheted football?

I would love to be able to crochet some small footballs to stuff and use for games at preschool. I am not really a crocheter, but can muddle along. Any pattern advice?

What a cute idea!
This might work. Its a coaster. I think it has a back so you could stuff in between. if not just make a plain back and stuff. I googled crochet football and there were other links...
