What kind of interior doors do you have? i love them! Trying to decide on 5 panel mdf or mdf with poplar. Are yours mdf or wood? they look great. Do you have flat black hardware? Emtek? or is it oil rubbed bronze? I want your doors!

Thanks you! They are woodgrain solid core MDF doors. Hardware is emtek ORB. We love them.

    Pps7,

Do you mind sharing an approximate cost per door? I love your doors but was quoted about $400 for a 2868 door, which is more than we can afford. Should I get another quote or is this in line with what you paid?

    Thanks,

thank you pps! I have an inquiry out and now waiting for rep to contact me to obtain a quote. cintijen that does seem high. Was it for the mdf or solid wood?

    Lupine6,

That was for the 5103 door that pps7 has. It does seem high for MDF, doesn't it? Maybe I should try a different supplier...

Good luck, let me know what you find out!

    Hi Cintijen,

I received the same figures. Our doors are 32 to 36 (6'8") and was told $400-500 each prehung. Ouch! I went with a mdf frame and poplar rails/stiles (5 panel) instead for $215-260 each prehung. I liked the thought of mdf because of warping etc, but the guy said these doors come with a guarantee as long as you paint all 6 sides, they guarantee against warping and shrinking. Plus, they are a local family owned company. I would maybe try another supplier just in case? This was our only supplier in the entire state and don't want to deal with out of state.

thank you again pps7, your doors are a definite inspiration!

    Lupine6,

We have tentatively decided on the Crossmore by Craftmaster. It's a craftsman 3- panel, although I like pps7's design better. We were quoted $126 (!) for a pre-hung, 2670. I had wanted square sticking, and this has a small ogee, but is flat-panel. I decided it was worth sacrificing square sticking to save $75+ per door. I might change my mind, though, lol.

I love them, cintijen! I think they will look gorgeous. I totally get saving the $$. With the mdf it was really cutting into our budget for also wanting the emtek hardware. I think it's money well spent elsewhere JMO. Place the order then you can't change your mind. That's what I did ha! I'm already driving the husband insane!

    cintijen,

That does seem high. I will need to dig up our paper work for the exact figures but I think our 8' doors were around $350-400. I would get a few more estimates.
