personally hand paint them....but im sure you could decoupe them....

I print out my picture on sticker paper (full sheet) and then laminate the front. Just stick it on the block. I do wipe the block off with rubbing alcohol first.

My friend uses window clings.

I print out my picture (I used digital pictures of my Gr. kids) on regular computer paper. I spray with a ink fixative, so ink won't smear. Let Dry. Cut to size and then put a layer of mod podge on back side and using my brayer put it on. The brayer helps you to get rid of all air bubbles. Let dry and put a mod podge coat on the top side. You can repeat, but let completely dry in between coats.

I printed mine on full lable sheets, then sprayed them with a couple of coats of Krylon Triple Thick Crystal Clear Glaze. They look like they've been laminated! Then,I just cut it out, peel the backing off and stick it to the block(s).

Connie-k, love the picture on your block. Did you paint the edges gold? Do you have lights in it. I read somewhere that you have to drill a hole to puts lights in--that part scares me--would be nice if they came predrilled. Luvs

Yes you must drill a hole.
Takes a special bit( 7/16" "diamond pointed" drill bit (Lowe's or harbor freight) and then you keep the bit cool by spraying water on the bit and the hole to keep it cool. Go slow. Hubby drilled them for me.
We drill ours holes very low on the side, so the cord comes out on the side, not the bottom.
