Yo-yo Quilt

I mentioned my quilt in another post I made today Luvstocraft asked me to share a picture when I'm done. Well, I'm not done yet and I'm not sure when I will be but I'll post a picture anyway :)

Here is how big it was up until a month ago. I started it last August and worked but got bored quickly.

I needed something to do last month while on vacation so I got back into it. Here is how big it was on Sept 8th. (380 yo-yo's)

That's very pretty!! I have a bunch of yoyo's made,but havn't done anything with them yet.

Very nice. Brings back memories of a clown doll that my grandmother used to make when I was young. It had stacks of yo-yos for the body, arms and legs, all strung with heavy twine. Jingle bell on the end of each leg and arm instead of hands. Sutffed fabric head with a clown hat and yarn hair. I loved those!

oh my achin fingers! All that needling and pulling...LOL

That looks great, I've never seen a "quilt" with them!

You can't see this very well in the picture, but it's got lots of colors. Our Relay For Life team made it and we are raffling it off.

Sweets, You are getting there! Bet it takes allot of yo yos to make a whole quilt. I had a friend who did one and arranged them like flowers--you know, yellow center then petals of pastels around the center. You can make different designs just by how you hook them together, can't you? I cut out a few circles and took them along for a hand craft on a trip, but I've never finished enough to do anything with yet! I enjoyed sitting and working on them--maybe someday I will have enough for a small pillow! Thanks for showing us your quilt. Luvs

Beautiful....I have always wanted a yoyo quilt. I have about 30 old quilts just have never ran into a yoyo. Decided I would just make my own. I got about 50 circles cut out, just cant get into it. Sure wish I could find some ready to sew.

It does take alot of yo-yo's. One of our Relay team members made almost all of them herself. Then a few of us worked and put them all together. The "putting together" part went faster than I would have thought.

They actually do have pre-made yo-yo's...on ebay. They add to them every day and they're usually done in color themes. I wondered why there were so many PERFECT looking ones and my cousin said they're probably using a machine. I prefer to make my own, though.

I also see a LOT of quilts on there that go for $40 and under. I always want to bid but don't have the money at the time or I forget.
