I now live in Georgia but used to live in Michigan. I didn't have to do craft shows in MI. beacuase we had 4 businesses that sold half the store handcrafted items from crafters like me and the other half the store was antiques.I loved that beacuse you just take your items in, you didnt have to be there. You got a check for what you sold twice a month. It had all kinds of sizes of booths from small, medium to large booths. You could decorate your booth however you wanted. I decorated for everyday and changed for the holidays. I had my booth for 2 years. I had to quite when my daughter was getting married because I did all her decorations. I hate it that there are no places like that down here. If we ever win the lotto my husband wants to open one down here. It was the best thing for me to do, I've done crafts for about 30 years. Craftylinda59, I was in a craft store with booths for several years.
I loved it also. I had 4 booths and made a nice profit.
The owners husband was tranferred across the crountry so she closed.
Are you going to try to do some crafts shows for the time being?

I'm in shop that has crafts and antiques right now and am doing well. I have one show I do every year, because it's all HANDMADE items. I do real well at that show.

Craftylinda, Have you gone to any of the antiques or collectibles stores in your area? Most will take things on consignment--especially seasonal items. It helps decorate their store and they don't have to buy the items--just sell them or you pick them back up later. I say this because I am working part time in a store like that. Luvs

We have one in my area but the monthly fees and percentage of sales is ridiculous,,,,I would love to own my own shop one day,,,,wouldn't we all?
