Do you make your own bulbs?I do .Its just clear cauling,dip a low watt bulb in pull up fast to make the fancy tip.It would save alot of money.Theyre like 4.00 a bulb to buy..

I've heard people make their own, but we get the candle w/ bulb for less than 2.50 wholesale.

My time is so limited, it wouldn't be worth making my own.

I have tried to make the bulbs and they never turn out right.

YOu can find the bulbs a lot cheaper now than when they first came out.

what kind of caulk do you use for this? (and any other directions I might need) I'd like to try it since I can't find the "flame" bulbs here in UK.

My hubbys a builder.I get it from him just a tube of clear caulking.Only a small amount at a time the caulking dries out.I put it in a deep container.I dip the bulb down to the metal area and pull up kinda fast to get a loop or long flame.I hang them upside down to dry.I make a big batch so I have them on hand,I also buy a case of bulbs from light company,cheaper.Remember too the watts should be low because till you light up all candles like in windows it adds up.I get 2 watts.

How to do : Get a tube of silicone for sealing showers (clear or sheer). Squeeze tube to make sure good. Get a holder for the light bulb..(Put a thick rubber band and some kind of string (so can hang upside down) around the base. Put silicone in tall enough old bowl to dip but large enough so you can retrieve bulb. Then simply dip bulb. Can twist and get fancy. Or add color. Hang upside down to dry for three days. The tip will lengthen as it hangs.

Great for a soft light effect.

To scent..they say add essential oils or candle oils or diffuser oils before silicone is dry. They note for night light bulb, the scent only lasts for eight to ten hours.

Those are really nice. I bought a couple of candle sticks similar at a craft show in Canton, one time, and had my DH drill a hole in the back of a bookcase so I could nestle them in among pic frames, etc. It adds a very nice touch. Love those kind of bulbs, too, look so much nicer than just a regular night light type bulb, IMO. I like how yours appear(the candle stick)to be dripping, mine are of wooden type holder for the bulb! Very nice looking, good luck with your craft shows, too!

You can buy the tube for in the caulking gun type.Silicone is pretty cheap that way.Thats what I use.

Also check eBay - you can get the premade bulbs for around $1 each in lots of 12, plus a couple dollars for shipping.

I have a couple that are colored - a brownish tint. Those are really pretty.
