Can you send photos of them in correctly. I bought a home with this vent and can't figure out how to get them out in the first place.

We could describe the process easier if you provide a photo of your hood's baffle configuration.

Beth4, this was so incredibly helpful. I was finally able to remove the baffles and grease trays so I could clean my Wolf Pro range hood. I wore rubberized garden gloves. You are a lifesaver. Your explanation was better than the one on the Wolf Subzero website.

How do you actually clean this baffles?? I find it very difficult

I do two things, but the first might not be necessary if the cleaning occurs with regularity.

1) Soak the baffles and grease trays in a laundry tub in water with Simple Green added.

2) Wash the baffles in the dishwasher as a normal load. (I can do half of them at a time, but I have 10 baffle arrays.) Try to arrange them so that the dishwasher spray heads can reach both sides of each array.

I have the same hood in 30". Can't get the spacers or the grease thingy out. Are they screwed in?

Using the red plastic covers for reference, for a given baffle assembly, I grasp one with each hand, and slide the assembly upwards, thereby relieving the bottom from the grease tray, then rotate and drop to get the top free.

Note that the baffle slots run vertically. This is so grease that collects drains toward the bottom.

In my hood, below each row of baffle assemblies there are small angle pieces that are easily removable that collect grease. This keeps most of it off of the hood edge. I don't recall how many are on each side. It is possible that some version of these hoods doesn't have the angle pieces, and grease just collects in the hood edge area. So in such a case you won't be able to disassemble further.

Hi, can you tell me what to use to clean the Wolf baffle filters? Last house I bought a stainless steel baffle, washed them in the dishwasher, and the stainless steel became like rainbow. It was impossible to bring it back prior to the wash. I want to just handwash the Wolf now, what cleaners or degreaser do you use? I bought a house and this Wolf hood came with it.

@kingadrian I don't have a Wolf but do have a Vent-A-Hood. I use 2 things. GP66 and Dawn Powerwash.

I've used Simple Green without any color effects, as well as dishwasher Finish Quantum. Chemical effects on the baffles may depend on the type of stainless steel that they are made of.

Were your previous house baffles made by Wolf?

My previous one is made by Zephyr. I had the Zephyr Connect Monsoon. I was pretty scare b/c I was about to sell my house, did a final clean and pop them in the dishwasher, and came out beat up with the rainbow looking thing.

I am attaching the current Wolf hood in my new house. The previous seller went all out with the Wolf. This is in the outdoor covered kitchen.

When you say you use the Finish Quantum, it means you wash them in the dishwasher?

I am currently cleaning the grates, and under it are the baffle looking vertical looking stainless, I notice lots of drippings too on the lump looking charcoal. How do I clean it, do I have to remove every single component?

I can only comment on hoods over cooktops, where grease accumulates in the baffle slots. Mine (see my image up this page) are cleaned in the dishwasher. I had one baffle assembly not clean well due to its position in the dishwasher last time, so I just ran it again.

Note that my hood's baffle assemblies come out by simple pulling upward and rotating outward, so no technical disassembly is required.

My general comment would be that Wolf uses decent 300 series stainless steel, and such should be pretty immune to most cleaning agents. Call Wolf for your particular needs. They answer their phones.

The grate, I found out, it is called briquettes tray. Wolf suggests wipe down with degreaser. No need to clean the briquetts charcoal neither bc it will burn off. I will find out how to my baffles filter. Thanks again for helping.

You have something unusual to my experience. What Wolf part is that briquette-using appliance that looks like it has its own hood nearly on top of it?

It is the Wolf outdoor grill and it has its own hood that vents to the outside.

Excuse the mess as I am trying to clean it for the 1st time. So you see where the briquettes charvoal are, they are wedged in between the tray, they sit right under the grate.

OK, thanks. I'll have to claim total ignorance of that appliance. As for the hood, it has the external shape of the Pro Hood line, and I would expect that the baffles would be removable by the same approach as I described somewhere earlier in this thread applicable to my Pro Island hood.

Yes, this is probably the Pro Hood Line. I will tackle that next. Thank you..
