looking for patterens

Hi,

I'm new here and so far I love it.

I'm looking for a patteren for a curling iron cover. I found the heat resistant material to make it out of now all I need is a patteren. Can anyone help me with my search?

Also I'm in search of patterens to make wind spinners using plastic canvas and beads. Thanks in advance for you help.

Welcome Crafting Grannie, so glad you joined the forum. You will be hooking very soon as you will find the folks in here very warm and friendly in their comments or when you ask for advice or directions. I love all the forums, you might want to check out the "Garden Junk" forum, it's super in my book, so many fantastic folks.

When ever you are looking for something in the forums, go to the top of the page and type in your subject and hit GO. More than likely you'll get a page with your subject on it, or direct you to other posts that may have the subject in it. I was able to search and find you these these instructions for the wind spinners using plastic canvas. Hope your project turns out great. If you're able to, please post a pic for all to see. Pics are always encouraged. If this is not what you are looking for, then again, do the search at the top as I did for these instructions, several posts come up for the spinners.

    Wind Chime
    Plastic Canvas Spinner

Welcome in Spring with a musical plastic canvas spinner. Project by Cathy of Service Unit 33 on Long island.
    You need:

    Half Piece of Plastic Canvas
    Pony Beads
    Aluminum Wind Chimes
    Nylon Monofilament
    Pipe Cleaner
    Instructions:

Cut canvas piece in half to measure approximately 6½" x 10". Cut into strips measuring 1/2" x 6½". Make a small loop at the end of the pipe cleaner and twist closed. Slide on a pony bead and push it up to the loop. Slide on a plastic canvas strip pushing the pipe cleaner through the middle square at one end. Slide on another pony bead and another strip of plastic canvas. Continue until you have 14 strips and 15 pony beads on the pipe cleaner.

String the loose end of the first canvas strip on to the pipe cleaner and push it up to the last bead. The plastic will bend into the curved shape. String on a pony bead and then the next canvas strip. Continue until all the strips are used. Finish by twisting the pipe cleaner into a small loop at the bottom.

Use pieces of monofilament to hang three chimes from the bottom loop. Use another piece of monofilament to hang the spinner outside to catch the wind.

    Thanks,
This will do great. I had these patterens but lost them. We are going camping in a couple of weeks and I know it will be tooo cold for me to fish so I thought I would make some of these. I'll post a picture if I can figure out how to. I have made light covers out of Plastic canvas.
Now if I can fine the curling iron cover patteren. I thought that would be a neat Christmas present for my granddaugthers. I can buy one but rather make it.
    Thanks again
