Printable clear cling sheets for windows

I want to make my own graphics for a glass block for a special gift.......

Can you buy static cling sheets that you can print on from your computer? And if so, where would you find them online? I live in the boonies and a quick trip to a craft shop is an all day deal.

Can someone help me please?

Thanks so much!

    Deb,
These are also sold a Walmart. I have printed some and the problem I found was they faded so quickly when exposed to sunlight. Hopefully the lights in the glass blocks will not cause the image to fade as much.

I just print the image onto my computer paper and spray each side about 4 times with clear gloss spray. Comes out perfectly every time.

You don't necessarily need the cling sheets. YOu can get the clear label stick-on sheets and print on those. Works very well in my experience. I got mine at Office Depot, but any major office supply store should have them.

Thanks everyone...I did want to go with the clear sheets, so I guess I'll try the clear label ones and try that.

Hi...Good to be back...Has anyone tried transparencies? you know the sheets of plastic they use with overhead projectors? I printed out one at work but haven't done anything with it yet.
I thought I'd stick it to the block with clear silicon caulking and smooth out the air bubbles with a credit card...what do you think? They are a lot cheaper than the clear sticker sheets..

I used the transparencies for graphics or pictures to put inside clear balls, but not sure how to get them to stick on the glass blocks. I was hoping for static cling so I could make different pictures all through the year to change out the graphics on the blocks each month or holiday!
Thanx 4 all of your help girls!

What does the clear gloss spray do? Is this to protect the print? Do the computer print outs fade?

I am hoping to have time this weekend to work on my blocks. This being my first ones to make it takes me forever. I have the transparencies and am going to give them a try. I was trying to figure out what to use to attach them with.

    Hi Everyone!!

I hope I'm not too late to expect a reply...I was wondering the same thing about the clear gloss spray.
Does it make regular paper translucent? (sorry if that sounds really stupid) :) And IF it does, how can I attach it to the block??

    Thanks for the help!!

It is never too late to ask.

I understand that the gloss spray does make the print translucent. You should use at least 3 to 4 coats on both sides. I had a problem with this when I was working with a print from my HP because of the dye inks. I had to use a workable fixative to stabilize the inks. I have heard that others have had no problem with the inks running and/or fading.

I ended up printing my pictures out on photo paper, then placing them in the center of an adhesive sheet, then placing it on the glass block, and cutting off the excess....worked GREAT
    Thanks you all

    me again,

Do you think it would work with something like a greeting card? And if I use spray adhesive to attach it, will the "transparency" quality be lost??

    Thanks

    Rita
