Great show!!! Can you please tell me about the Chili Angels? I collect angels but haven't seen these!

    Sure Ann...
Here in New Mexico, Chili is like the biggest thing!
They sell dry red chili pods in bags at the store for about $3.00. You get about 20-30 per bag.
I first cut the trunk off the top of the Chili
I spray them with a clear gloss 2 or 3 times so that they are a little more durable.
I use wooden "door knob" balls (flat on one side and round on the other)(any craft store) for the heads (glueing with glue gun/on the trunk end of the chili)
Using raffia I tie a bow around the neck where the glue is visible. Then I make a bow with 3 strands of raffia and attach to the back of neck for wings. Attach a raffia hanger to hang.
OOPS!!! The Halo! They are the very thin wooden round discs glued to the top of the head as the halo.
I am going to try to see if I can take some pictures and post them here. But who knows if I can figure that out...lol
Let me know if you have any other questions

There is a craft show at the local high school. I went to it for many years but then they cut it from 2 days to 1. I can never go on Sat. so I don't go anymore but they have the same sellers every year so I know I won't be missing anything.

It bothers me when they have the same sellers over and over...Customers get tired of seeing the same items year after year. After a while you won't have any customers! We have some here that do that. I don't ever join on a yearly basis there either.
Variety is the best thing when people do shows year after year...I think anyway...lol

    Evening all..
    I had a show on Sat..it SNOWED...I mean snowed...at least 6"...the turnout wasn't bad considering...gag gifts sell...angels..towels...placemats..table runners...oh,not all by me..just what I was observing...wood items...all hand done...
I agree with the posts about the same sellers selling the same thing year after year and then complaining they aren't making a profit...
I do try to change my crafts every other year...this is why I love craft forums...I never would have thought to make chili angels...not that we can get chilis here in central NY...but I do know I have been asked about chili pepper towels...
I sold out of all the Santa underwear money holders...hubby designed a snowman with a shovel...you put the money rolled up at the end of the shovel..they are not easy to make..I don't like sewing in a figure eight...lol..any way they are all gone..we bought more felt but right now I am just looking at it..lol..I have a 2 dayer coming up ...Fri and Saturday...so I have to do something creative..this show allows buy and sell...
So I have some stuffed bears and a neat poem or two..will bring those too...
Yikes this house needs a dusting...soooooooooooooooooo...
Have a great week..and keep crafting...for fun and profit..
    hugs to all

Marci, can you tell us more about your bookmarkers???

I have a show Sat. (3rd of Dec.). I try to add something new each year. It seems like new things take at least a year or 2 to catch on around here. Yes, Marci, would love to know about your bookmarks.

Ok..Bookmarks....OMG they are just soooooooo easy and sell like hotcakes!!

You buy the silver bookmarks at Hobby Lobby they are where all the charms are. It is just a flat silver cane looking thing with a bead at the end and a jump ring at the bottom to add a charm. They are regularly $1.99 each and then add a charm of your choice. The charms there right next to them are only $.68. I attach the charm and put it in a long rectangular box and sell them for $8-10.00. People just love them here! I know it is the simplest thing to make, but I needed table fillers. Being that my inventory is kind of low this year. Let me know if you all find what Im talking about if not, I can probably get some here....
    Happy Crafting!

    Hi Marci..
We have no Hobby Lobby here...Wal Mart is my craft supplier...unless I want to drive 150 miles RT to get to a Michaels and an A.C. Moore..
    Have never seen silver bookmarks..
Wal Mart sells charms...that's about it..lol...bookmarks are just the plain cardstock type..maybe I should move..lol..Have a happy..
