We recently purchased our first home and are doing many of the design projects ourselves. My biggest dilemma is which color to paint our brick fireplace. The house is a ranch style home and has low ceilings, so does not offer a lot of natural light in the TV/hangout room (which opens to kitchen). The previous owners painted the fireplace red with black trim. Looking to brighten up the room, so thinking light grey with white trim (same white as our base boards). I love the look of natural/basic/clean-looking colors with brightly colored accents (like colorful art or accent pillows) but not sure if grey is the right choice for brick!

Any other color suggestions?? I'm totally open!
