Hanging table light

I have a clear glass light that hangs above my table. My idea is to paint this light somehow to give it a tiffany style. I need to use paint that will not run as I cannot remove the light. Even if I did it will not lay flat due to the design. I tried the glass paint in the little squeeze bottle but didn't get much effect. Also, when the light is on it generates much heat. The paint peeled off like a latex mask. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
