Hi, here's one that I've been making for years - as an interesting note, it is from a friend who is an opera singer!

Streusel Coffeecake

1/3 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
2 cups flour
3 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 cup milk

Crumb topping:
1/3 cup butter
1/2 cup flour
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon

Cream butter, sugar and egg together. Mix dry ingredients, add alternately with milk to creamed mixture. Beat until smooth. Pour into greased and floured 9x9 pan.

Cut butter into dry ingredients, mix until crumbly. Spoon over batter.

Bake at 350 for 40-45 minutes.

I can sure vouch for the recipe below. It's very good. If you want it plainer, just don't put the layer of filling in & just put it on top with the rest of the streusel.

Cherry Coffee Cake

2 1/4 cp all purpose flour
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup butter
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 egg beaten
3/4 cup buttermilk or sour milk (add lemon juice to milk)
1 can cherry pie filling

Preheat oven to 350°F

Combine flour and sugar in large bowl. Cut in butter until mixture is crumbly. Set aside 1/2 cup of mixture. To remainder add baking powder and soda. Combine egg and milk. Add to dry ingredients, stir just until moistened. Spread two-thirds of the batter over bottom and part way up side of greased 9 inch springform pan. Spoon pie filling over batter. Drop spoonfuls of remaining batter over filling. sprinkle with reserved crumb mixture. Bake for 50 to 55 minutes or until done.

I've made this one several times, each time it's a hit! You ever had Starbucks Classic Coffee Cake? This is that recipe! Yes it is!

-Topping-
1 c flour (all purpose)
1 c light brown sugar packed
1/2 c butter softened
1tsp cinnamon
1/2 c chopped pecans
-cake-
1 cup butter softened
3/4 c light brown sugar packed
1/2 c sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
2 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/3 c milk
preheat oven 325°
Make topping by combining flour w/brown sugar, stick of butter and cinnamon in medium bowl. Mixture should have consistency of moist sand. Add pecans.
In large bowl, cream butter, brown sugar, sugar w/mixer til smooth and fluffy. Add eggs, vanilla and mix well.
In a Separate bowl combine flour, baking powder, salt. Add dry mixture to moist ingredients, a little at a time. Add milk and mix well. Spoon batter into 9 x 13 pan, buttered and dusted with light coating of flour.
Sprinkle crumb topping over batter, be sure topping completely covers batter. Bake cake for 50 mins or until edges begin to turn light brown.
Cool and slice. Serves 8
