Where did you get the machine? If you got it from a sewing machine shop, they should not have given you a CD in the wrong format! If you got it from a dealer, you should make them give you the right one.

If that's not possible, and you didn't get PE Design with your machine, there is a program called Embird. It's reasonably priced and you can use it to edit designs as well as convert them from one format to another.
