I am trying to use my new singer Futura 250 to embroider some simple images (one color) using AutoPunch. I'm used to using Photoshop and Illustrator so I thought I would be able to figure this out easily but what I see on the screen looks like a big mess. There isn't much in the instructions to explain the software other than the basics. I would like to be able to embroider some of my own designs but I don't want to buy some expensive software that I would only use every once and a while.

Any advice? Are there some better instructions somewhere? Does it look better when it's sewn than it does on the screen?
