Anyone have experience on embroidering on 2-ply cashmere?

Not sure if it's a good idea or not and not sure of which stabilizers to use. I'm thinking iron on for back and then that onto sticky-back in hoop or just anything in hoop with spray adhesive and cashmere with iron-on left unhooped. And then water soluable on top. Does this sound right? And needle type and size?

Oh, and I only have a PE 150, so not sure if I'm crazy to try. I should probably try to find an old piece of trashed cashmere sweater or something to test on.

ANY ideas and suggestions would be welcomed.
