100% nylon vs 100% polyester sofa fabric

I am currently purchasing a Flexsteel sectional sofa with end recliners. I am looking for a very durable fabric, but am confused with the fabric choices. I have narrowed it down to two fabric swatches, 100% nylon and 100% polyester. Doing research, it seems that 100% nylon has a tendency to pill, but very durable and can be cleaned with water. 100% polyester seems to have the same pilling problem and could absorb oils and could stretch and wrinkle. Which fabric would be better? I would appreciate any opinions.

There is a consideration of "fiber" vs. "fabric" The fiber can be fabricated into different fabrics (think velour, tweed, duck, jacquard, etc.)

Just as I would not want to wear 100% nylon or polyester pants -- I am not sure I would want to sit on a sofa of that material. Sounds sweaty!

We just got two Flexsteel sofas and so far we like them very much. We also got a large ottoman which is going back for the second time (first the fabric frayed and split, now a button disappeared into the hole in the ottoman!).
