sharp hdtv 19' tv to cable?

We just purchased a Sharp 19" TV that is HDTV. However, we hooked it up to our cable (it's for our guestroom).

We did the memory channel set up, and it takes FOREVER to change the channel. It also picks up audio channels and digital channels (ie., 10.2). Any suggestions? Would the fact that it is an HDTV have anything to do with this?

What cable service do you have, digital or analog? If it is analog, NTSC and the Sharp tuner does NTSC there shouldn't be a problem. I assume the Sharp has a dual tuner NTSC/ATSC. Maybe there is an manual switch? I don't know, just a guess based on the little that I know...I still have only a tube type TV tuning NTSC on cable. Maybe this reply will stimulate further, better inputs. Is the Sharp a flat screen LCD or a tube (bottle) TV?
