Here are some images of the dining room. Need help with what mirror style etc. to put on that back wall. How wide and long should I go. One big mirror or three?

    one big mirror

That's a good idea I didn't think about the cluttered look by doing more than one mirror. I am now deciding between getting a large framed mirror or just having a big piece of mirror installed on that wall and then perhaps putting a wall lighting sconce on either side of it.

@AggieDesigns- I already have a leaning floor mirror in the living room area so I didn't want to do another one and I was thinking if I do a mirror i would probably make it wide and tall. If I do one that is too narrow I don't know if that will compete with the doorway and if it will also take away from expanding that wall space.

Check out Z Gallerie - They have a ton of decorative mirrors that are beautiful and a reasonable price. Also, make sure they have the hangers on the back on the right direction. I would use a framed mirror, even if framed with more mirror. Unframed mirrors may take your design back a few years.
Another option is to put a floor to ceiling piece of art and put a smaller horizontal mirror over your console. Just giving ideas? Good luck-

ooh and wall murals from this place: http://www.surfaceview.co.uk/shop/walls/accent-mural They are from the UK so make sure to change your currency and watch shipping costs. Pricey but less than original art that big. Also, if you put the mirror over the console, you might get more natural light from your living room.

Nice space! You have a lot (too much)going on in the space. The wall pictures (too many) are too high on the wall. I would get a mirror that fits the wall that is hung as high as the plant in the right corner, and hung 12 to maybe 18 inches above the table (not sure of the size) . I would remove all the things on the table and place a table runner on top of it. Then add a smal plant and 2-3 candles, or a vase of flowers and candles. I would remove everything from the top of the glass side table except for the candles and love. A rug with tan, beige and the color of the throw on the sofa would be a nice accent rug color under the dining table. On the left and right wall, I would add a big abstract picture, picture of a big flower or a group of 2-3 similar pictures.

Definitely one large mirror. However, given that your dining table, chandelier and photo frames are rectangular, I would choose one with a round or oval shape, such as this one from ZGallerie (I agree with cloverbuddy they are a great source for mirrors):

I checked out z gallerie's site and they do have beautiful mirrors. It is so hard for me to imagine a mirror of any shape and or size in the space without actually seeing it and to purchase an expensive mirror and then not know how it will work or if I like it os so risky but I just have to do it.

@anitajoyce-can you suggest how I makes the photowall look better? I really wanted to have a collage of family photos on that wall and there are so many that I love. I could move some of them to the wall going up the stairs and I was thinking of using either silver, mirrored or white frames. Do you think the black frames of different styles is too much. Would love your feedback on that.

I had some small white pumpkins on the table for halloween/fall but I will remove them. And remove the table runner that I have and get one that runs the full length of the table.

Do you think there is too much going on in the living room area also?

Thanks everyone for the great suggestins. I feel so stuck about what type of picture or art to put on that opposing wall from the photowall that will go with the whole space.

Pictures would look better above the table runner (chest or some kind of credenza would fit better). They are hanging above "nothing" now. Some wall art or plant would be better instead and the mirror on the opposite wall that would reflect it. Pictures will give 3D to the space and will be the focal point and "look stopper" when you are looking from the sitting area. Now it is only deep empty space in the eye hight. Only suggestion:).

Thanks for the suggestion smekicdelic. i tried moving the glass console table on the photo wall and it doesn't look good there because it really cuts into the walkway from the living room, to dining room, to kitchen. Because we have high ceilings I was trying to play that up by putting the pictures high but I see what everyone is saying. I'll try shifting all the pictures down so that the sequence when all put together looks like a narrower but wider selection of photos. More contained. I think by putting them a little closer it may help. I'l try it and see. I'm also going to try removing some of the things I have on the dining table. The love mirror was actually to go on my photowall.

Thanks Cloverbuddy and Wendi Z gallerie does really have great affordable mirrors.

Not moving the console table, but moving the pictures above the sonsole table where it is now.

On arranging the pix - and I like them over the console as shown above by smekicdelic, I think there are "tutorials" on hanging assorted size arrangements online - like taping out a square area and then filling in that area only which are helpful. I'd say mirror on wall behind table and panting/mural on kitchen entry wall (and of course, that will then be opposite mirror and reflect that print).
Do you love your LOVE piece? How about hanging it and maybe some other "letter" art within the family portraits?

Of course, this is only a "sketch", it should be arranged properly in one square. I wanted to show where I would put pictures and the mirrow.

Thanks for sending. I will try to make some adjustments and see how it looks. Because the living/dining room is a long space and not very wide, not only do I want it to appear wider I also want to have as much light reflected on that back wall so it does make it feel more spacious. Where you moved the photos smekicdelic on that wall opposite that wall in the living room area is a huge window. I was hoping to catch some of that light from the window in a mirror that's why I was considering putting it there.

But perhaps putting a mirror on the wall where you have it would help make the space feel wider.

I may consider moving the plant altogether. I did that because of thebulkhead I wanted to divert the eye from that area and have the eye draw more to the centre of that wall. Unfortunately my chandalier is off centered and cannot be moved so I tried to balanace everything with those lines in mind. Attached are some pics of the living area.

The kitchen area is my next project because I do realize that because you can see it from the living/dining area its competing with whats going on. I have to still figure out a kitchen paint wall colour. I still want to keep it light and airy in there but I may consider doing a deeper gray than the revere pewter i currently have on my l/d room walls and then perhaps a focal wall color. We also still don't have a backsplash up in the kitchen and I need to move that tall bookcase in the kitchen and we want to extend out the counter tops and do an island type L shape coming out so we can put two bar stools. I'll attach pics of the kitchen.

My poor walls wll have so many nail holes in them but I guess it's fine. I do want to get the space looking and feeling right. Especially before Christmas. We're be having lots of family and friends coming through during the holidays.

I really appreciate all your great suggestions, ideas and mockups it is very helpful too me.

I painted that canvas in the living room area and I picked up another canvas that size that I started painting by putting yellow on it but I stopped because i wasnt feeling inspired anymore so i stopped working on it. I'm currently on mat leave so I have lots of time on my hands lol.

I have a dining table that needs a chandelier. The problem is the center of the table is not the center of the window. What do I do??????
