After searching the big home improvement stores such as Lowe's and Home Depot, we decided to try some laminate from Sam's Club. The reason for that was that it seemed to be the same quality as some of the Pergo at Lowe's or Home Depot but it was cheaper in price and seemed to be stronger and thicker.
We know for a fact that Pergo makes this particular brand for Sam's Club although their name isn't on the box. The problem is my husband attempted to put this stuff down in our pantry (to see if he could work with it and to see how difficult it was to lay it) and he had issues with the corners breaking easily.
Is this common for most laminates? He bought all sorts of new tools to put this stuff in correctly but is having problems with it clicking together well and problems with it breaking off on the corners.
He is very frustrated with the whole thing and is convinced that if this little area was that difficult to put in, that there is no way he could attempt to put it in our kitchen and living room. Any tips or comments on these issues?
We've both done some searching on the internet and this forum to get inside tips on installation but are we better off just paying someone to put this down for us?
Thanks!
Deb
