I sell to many flooring dealers who don't have the warehouse space to cut the carpet in the warehouse. Some literally cut the capret in their parking lot. Even when this space is available some cuts need to be made on site to ensure an accurate installation.

If the same installer did the initial measure, then there is no worry about cutting in the warehouse.

It is when a salesman does the measure and then hands off the cuts to the installer, where things can get cut short.
