Cold air through pine floors

Hi!

We purchased a 100 year old house last year. Our basement has one radiator in it. That means that our large back room doesn't have any heat. We aren't interested in heating it either.

The problem is that we have old pine floors and no sub-floor. Cold air comes up through the floor in the living room. We live in a cold climate too.

Should we insulate between the floor joists in the basement? If so, how? Create a sub-floor? Tack carpet up between the ceiling joists? :)
