Lynn, I looked extensively this weekend, but did not come across the pattern. I still believe I have it in my stash, but if anyone else out there can help, Lynn, I'd appreciate it. I will keep looking. I just can't remember if it was a loose pattern, or if it was in one of my books. There are only a couple hundred to look through!

I remember seeing them. You cut the top and bottom off the cans. Then you cut the front part that shows the label you want. It looks like the can is not quite the front half. Then you punch holes around the can edges. Do not try to flatten the cans; it looks like they leave the curve of the can. Lastly, you crochet a couple of rows of a yarn color that picks up a can color all around the edge and join the sections into a hat, putting two cans across the top of the hat and crocheting them to the top edge of the hat sides. I think there was some kind of brim, like on a fisherman's hat, crocheted in the same yarn. I think cuttin out the cans to a really smooth edge and punching holes in the edges is the real challenge. The holes were the size of the holes on notebook paper. In the meantime, keep looking for the pattern if this doesn't help you to fudge it.
