Hi Nancy:

I have knit afghans with Phentex worsted and there was nothing at all wrong with them. They wash nicely and are quite soft.

I do not care for the Merit Phentex, because to me it is not a worsted weight. It seems more like a sport weight.
I like worsted weight.

I think the Phentex worsted is called Dynasty? I could be wrong.

Now I can start knitting with more confidence in it. It feels nice and soft so it should be a joy to use! This Phentex has no other name on it. It is from a Canadian Michaels so I don't know if it may have another name in the States.

I'm in Abbotsford, BC and find that the MIchael's stores here are more expensive then in the US. I shop both sides of the border to find the best bargains.
