I have one somewhere in a box in the rafters. Actually knitting or crocheting is much faster and much more versatile. This thing is slow and clumsy. But if you want to give it a try, you will find some instructions on it's use here:

I might give it a try but you're probably right. I'm still wondering where the heck I got it--maybe with some flea market things, or at garage sale??? It's really no use unless I have a pattern--maybe I'll just try a dishcloth!
