The lace pattern may be the Grapevine from one of Barbara Walker's Treasuries but I can't see enough detail to be certain. It could simply be a long rectangular piece wrapped from the right side, up across the chest, over the left shoulder, across the upper back, over the right shoulder, down across the chest to the left side, across the lower back and joined to the edge on the right. Just a wild guess. It's very pretty -where did you find the picture?

Dolly, I'm no expert, but that looks like it would be fairly simple to duplicate. To me, it appears that you just make a rectangle of ribbing, then one (in this photo it shows two, sewn together - it would depend on the stitch pattern you chose, which you would need to use) long narrow piece that is just stitched onto the top edge of the rectangle and then again at the lower sides.

I was thinking I could make a crochet pattern out of this somehow.
I have been trying to find the source for this pattern but it is illuding me and
putting a bunch more grey on my head.
I will experiment with a piece of cloth using your directions and see what I come up with.
If I figure something out I'll let you know.

That sweater plunges so deeply that the fit will have to be exact. Don't want it shifting or sagging.

This is CUTE...but good luck keeping it on the shoulders : ) I think it's two pieces too...just sewn together at front where necessary! Good luck and let us know what you come up with!
